Several RC builds, one progression.
Rather than treating the six-wheel robot and the arm-equipped robot as separate projects, I grouped them here as a series of RC robot experiments. Each build focused on learning how to package motors, batteries, receivers, ESCs, servos, wiring, and mechanical structures into a working mobile platform.
These robots were manually controlled with hobby RC transmitters and receivers. They did not use onboard autonomous programming. Over multiple versions, I moved from simple platforms toward custom 3D-printed chassis and remotely actuated mechanisms.
Included Builds
- Six-wheel RC platform: a larger printed chassis using six gearmotors and RC electronics.
- Arm-equipped RC robot: a mobile platform with a simple remotely actuated arm and attachment.
- Compact RC platforms: smaller experiments used to test drivetrain and packaging ideas.
What I worked on
- Designed chassis and structural components in SolidWorks.
- 3D-printed large chassis sections and smaller mechanical parts.
- Integrated DC gearmotors, RC receivers, ESCs, batteries, servos, and wiring.
- Experimented with wheel layouts, packaging, and remotely controlled mechanisms.
- Iterated the physical design as the robots became larger and more mechanically complex.
